Quick Update.

Very pleased to find two willing authors, especially after the bitter disappointment from two other authors.

I was told by one, that it may take a while to complete, but I was thrilled to bits talking to them.So for the moment though,I have to wait.

Quick Update.

Next page is currently being done, and the sketch looks good,so I can't wait for that to arrive.

Latest story is finished, although the original idea is not mine, but I enjoyed writing it out.

Sadly, nothing new from KP presents, and I've just given up on him. That was so disappointing, and still no news from Matt Johnson for nearly a year.I'm still enraged at him for taking a payment, and still nothing.

At least Jeb's Adventure Bound is still going, although a lot of the new stories posted aren't to my liking.

Rant over..I'm off to bed...

To Protect-An Alternative War of the Worlds

Portsmouth Naval dockyard:Present day.

The whole port was filled with people and many vessels. On the dockyard,it was filled with frantic activity.A lot of people were in the military-army,air force and navy.

At the moment, these people were attempting to gain order with the large, growimh amount of civilians who were flooding imto the port, desperate to escape onto a boat.

One of these boats was a Royal Navy destroyer, which was assigned to protect the fleeing refugees. This destroyer was named:HMS Princess, aptly named as a lot of its crew were all young, highly attractive females.

The 'Princess' captain was also,a very striking young woman. She was Louise Wilson,a twenty three old and one of the youngest Royal Navy's captains, and one of the best.Louise had graduated first from the Royal Navy, and she was one of the few female officers to gain the first prize at her basic training. She'd been thrilled to bits after achieving this, and was delighted to get her first command on this ship.

Now however, there wasn't any time for thrills.Instead,it was a desperate battle of survival.Hostile alien forces had landed on the planet, and were wiping out her people in untold numbers.Panic was overwhelming, and Louise knew there wasn't much left of their military to fight back.Even worse,Louise had seen their own weapons to be totally ineffective against the imvaders.Their technology was far superior to anything they had.The alien machines were massive, heavily armoured tripods, and they were wiping out everything and everybody in their path. The future certainly looked bleak for humanity.

Yet,Louise was still determined to help her people. It was her duty, just as she knew all her crew would do the same. They'd been assigned to protect the evacuation of the fleeing civilians here.In the port, there were still plenty of ships and a lot of people successfully taken onboard each of them, but more and more people were flooding into the port.It was getting much more harder by the minute.

She stood currently on the bridge of her ship, and frequently observed the activity going on outside.A lot of army staff were here, and were making sure that there was no stampede or panic-stricken mob to get to the waiting boats.Louise wondered how long it would last. The latest intelligence reported there were tripods nearby, but as yet, nothing was seen or picked up by their radar.

Louise made sure her crew were well up to scratch, but deep inside, she was full of fear.Other reports had confirmed the alien tripods were seizing people, all young women. For what purpose,Louise had no idea, but she knew it wouldn't be good.
As she helped to keep an eye out on the civilian evacuation Louise made a silent prayer. Please, she thought desperately, clinging her hands together, somebody help us.

+++

Ir was just at that precise point when Louise thought that, when in a deserted area of the port,a young man suddenly materialised out of nowhere. He was tall, well over 6'2,very powerfully built and had dirty blond hair and blue eyes.He was dressed in a British army T-shirt khaki patterned, with army trousers and black boots.A holster with a handgun:a .45 was inside.

Nobody saw him materialise, which was just the way he wanted it.He'd been assured that his arrival would be unseen, and he immediately made telepathic contact with the one that had sent him.

I have arrived,my lady.David thought that to where his message was recieved instsntly.

Good,David.A woman's voice responded back to him.You know what to do,and hurry my son.The enemy are already there.

David then noticed the enemy,he'd already seen them in his briefing.Tall Tripods that were wiping out everything before them, and he was also well aware of how invincible these machines were.So far, none of the weapons these people had weren't getting through.

I see them,my lady.David had instantly seen the threat lurking under the water, and nobody in the port had detected it.Grimly,he made to counter it as he disappeared from view.

+++

Back on the bridge of 'Princess',Louise had recieved orders to escort the civilian ships lraving the port. She had instantly ordered her helm officer:Ensign Kelly,to steer the ship out and Kelly had immediately obeyed.
All of the girls could feel the ship's engines beneath their feet as the 'Princess' moved away. They were all still tense, praying they could accomplish their mission.

Louise held a pair of binoculars to her eyes just as a couple of her bridge crew did.So far, nothing was seen of the hostile alien machines, and Louise was silently praying they could achieve their mission.

She glanced back at the port seeing so many people still waiting their turn to board a ship to effect their escape. There were no civilians on her ship though.Louise couldn't afford that. The ' Princess' was a fighting ship, and she needed all her crew to be ready.

They were nearing the harbour exit, when suddenly, they all heard a familar, but dreadful sound. It was a howling shriek, and the sound none of them wanted to hear.

"ULLAAAA!!!"

Quickly Louise and everyone else spotted one of the tripods, now standing menacingly on the outskirts of the port.A deathly silence suddenly came over everybody,as most stared fearfully up at it.Seconds later, panic ensued as many desperately attempted to rush through the checkpoints.

Another tripod appeared, then another, now positioning themselves in different points of the port.Louise could see the aliens had blocked all exit points from the port.Everybody was trapped.

Even so,Louise wasn't going to give up so easily.Instantly, she ordered her ship to maximum speed, and to steer at one of the waiting tripods.

"Stand by all missile launchers," she commanded,"and main guns."

Her weapons officer:Naomi, immediately activated the 'Princess' weapon systems, and looked over at her captain.

"All weapons ready,ma'am." Naomi reported.

"Target the one blocking the port." Louise commanded."All weapons engage."

Naomi immediately pressed and switched all weapon control systems, and several missiles streaked out of their tubes, with the main guns also firing at their designated target.Other warships in the port also fired their own weapons at the three tripods.

Louise watched the firepower from her ship strike their target, and amid a mass of fierce explosions with a tremendous fireball erupting around the tripod upper part, completely enveloping around it.

Yet,within seconds,Louise and everyone else were dismayed yet again,to see their weapons had no effect. The tripods hadn't bothered even to move.Instead they all still stood fully upright, continuing to observe the chaotic scenes of their frantic prey.

"Keep firing!" Louise looked sharply at Naomi, who was already obeying to unleash a second volley, when there was a sudden cry of alarm from one of the girls on the bridge.
Instantly Louise headed over to see,and she couldn't but help recoil in horror.

The surface on the sea had suddenly transformed itself into a deadly whirlpool, and the 'Princess' was rapidly approaching it.Disaster loomed for them within seconds.

Recognising the threat,Louise suddenly shouted out."Full astern! Maximum power!"

However,it was too late.

A fourth tripod now began to loom menacingly out of the water, right next to the 'Princess' and it then used grappling hooks to begin to tilt the ship.Screams of utter terror from the girls as they were sent flying to the opposite side as their ship was easily forced over. They'd be on their side within a moment, totally unable to help.

Louise had managed to hold on-just,as she helplessly watched the tripod easily tilting her ship over. She closed her eyes in despair, knowing this was the end.

And then, suddenly, she watched the tripod falling backwards. It smashed into the water, and immediately sank out of sight. Then,Louise and her crew felt the ship right itself.

They were all stunned and shocked at this, but Louise reacted quickly, seeing some of her crew hurt.

"Medical teams to the bridge," she commanded."Damage control."

"Wh-wh-what happened?" Naomi asked, the fear still fully evident im her voice.

"I don't know,Naomi." Louise admitted."Fire the second volley."

Still shaken,Naomi attempted to do so,but she could see all the weapons systems were dead.

"Weapons unable to fire,ma'am."

"Send for technical support." Louise responded,as she continued to watch the other tripods in the port, now advancing towards where their fallen comrade had been.

As they reached it,Louise and everybody watched, stunned,as both titans were now being pulled down into the water. They were both being pulled down slowly, simultaneously, ruthlessly, before they too, disappeared beneath the surface.A last, howling shriek from both machines as they were forced under, and then,it was quiet.

This made everybody in the port completely silent, but there was an overwhelming sense of relief. No more tripods were visible, and the panic stopped.Louise, still slightly shaken herself from her lucky escape, was baffled at what had happened.

+++

Deep underwster in the port,David was now finishing off the alien tripod crews. He could see they were humanoid, very tall and very stealthy in their gait.

However, this didn't help them,as David easily forced his way into their machines, and with cold efficiency,he tore them apart. He flung each humanoid, kicked and punched ruthlessly. Not one of the humanoids got anywhere near him,and within moments, they were strewn all over their consoles, whimpering in total terror.

Satisfied to hear that,David then made the decision to kill them.He then used his laser eyes to open up parts of the tripods exterior, and water immediately flooded in to each of them.

He watched with grim satisfaction,as the water gradually overwhelmed the stricken humanoids, and their bodies floated harmlessly in their tombs.

He sensed no more threats, and David immediately made telepathic contact with the woman he'd spoke too earlier.

Threat successfully dealt with,my lady.David thought to her.

Good,my son.Her voice instantly came back to him.You have done well. Now dispose of the bodies. They are still a threat to the humans there.

Yes,my lady.David nodded,as he then moved to obey.

++

Back on the surface, order was slowly being re-established.On the 'Princess' Louise was relieved to hear there were no fatalities among her crew.Indeed, she found out nobody had been killed by the aliens here. This made her think.

Damage to her ship was minor, something else that puzzled her. That tripod had just about forced her ship almost to capsize, but something had helped them. For the moment, they had no idea.

Working at her radar station on the bridge,Konnie was scanning the underwater, seeing the wrecks of the tripods, but she also something else.

"Captain," she called over to Louise."I'm picking up activity on the sea-bed."

"What kind of activity?" Louise asked her.

"Movement." Konnie could see it on the radar screen in front of her."I can see the tripod wrecks, but there's something else down there."

Suddenly, there were violent sounds from the surface of the water.Just like so many,Louise was stunned to see humanoid bodies being thrown out from the water, and being flung into Space.

Then, everything was peaceful, but Louise and everybody who had seen what had just happened, made her more determined to find out.

"Whatever it was,ma'am." Konnie reported."It's gone."

Louise thought for a moment, before she then decided on her response.

"Send the data to infra-red." She told Konnie."Report your findings to me."

"Yes,ma'am."

With that done,Louise went back to her mission,in escorting the civilian ships to safety.Yet,she would never forget what she'd seen here.

+++

As soon as he'd thrown all the humanoid bodies out from their wrecked machines into deep space,David materialised himself out of the water, and into another, deserted area of the port.

It is done,my lady,he thought to his commander.

Good,David. The woman's voice came back to him.You will now proceed to this area.David saw where he was being sent too next, and he nodded.

I understand,my lady.David nodded again, thinking that.He couldn't help, but glance at the warship he'd just saved. He could see Louise om board, and he felt a strong attraction to the girl. She was very beautiful, and he was determined to protect her, whenever she needed it.

He then disappeared from view, just as silently as he'd arrived.

Final version is complete on this.

Turning the Tables-colour.

 Colour version has arrived

Ethan's pics.

I was pleased to find some pictures done for me,by New York artist:Ethan Young.

This is a huge favourite, and I was a massive fan of him for years.I gave him a small fortune in paying for these pictures. In fact,I'm sure he told me before, that I'd paid for his wedding.I was very disappointed when he told me he wasn't doing any more drawings anymore, although I'm sure I heard he's still involved in some way.

Looking at this great picture he did for me,I still feel sad and let down when he refused my requests.

Turning the Tables

I'm afraid this page didn't quite turn out the way I asked from the artist.A little disappointed. In fact,it doesn't appear to have gone down very well at all.

Even so,there are still some good signs on it,but next time,I'll be hoping for a better page.

Forlorn and Alone

Quiet, silent tears roll down my face,

Inside,I'm now empty,in my heart you have now no place.

Too many days, weeks, months even years of silence from you, have now shattered my heart.

Each day without you I try to think it's best without you,but every day I'm feeling heartbroken and ripped apart.

My smile is gone, knowing now the awful truth,I felt with you by my side I was back in my youth.

Now I feel deeply sad and forlorn, each day I mourn and alone.

Arrival-coloured.

Hopefully, the final version won't be long.
